Genetic characterisation of the honeybee (Apis mellifera) population of Rodrigues Island, based on microsatellite and mitochondrial DNA

In this study, maternal origins of A. mellifera in Rodrigues have been assessed with the DraI test and sequencing of the mitochondrial COI-COII region. A total of 524 colonies were sampled to establish the biodiversity of the established honeybee population.

Synergistic interactions of begomoviruses with Sweet potato chlorotic stunt virus (genus Crinivirus) in sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.)

Three hundred and ninety-four sweet potato accessions from Latin America and East Africa were screened by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the presence of begomoviruses, and 46 were found to be positive.
