Improving long-term storage under tropical conditions: role of cultivar selection

This is Chapter 7 of the book Sweetpotato postharvest assessment: Experiences from East Africa. It examines the effect of cultivar selection on long-term storage success. Characteristics identified are (1) intrinsic resistance to rots, (2) low respiration rates and (3) reduced tendency to switch to anaerobic respiration.
